Whew! The previous couple of days have been filled with drama between Lil Nas X and BET, unsurprisingly issues are nonetheless heated based mostly on a post-and-delete message from him. Taking to Twitter, Lil Nas X continued to gas his beef with BET by tweeting about their response to his criticisms concerning not being nominated for an award this 12 months—and let’s simply say that he’s not impressed.
Following BET publicly responding to Lil Nas X persevering with to name out the community for failing to appoint him for a 2022 BET award, Nas posted his ideas within the type of a tweet. Although he shortly deleted it, followers snatched it up and it began to flow into. “These are literally just buzz words placed together,” he wrote in response.
Before that, BET launch an official assertion about why Lil Nas X was not nominated at this 12 months’s awards present:
“We love Lil Nas X. He was nominated for a Best New Artist BET Award in 2020, and we proudly showcased his extraordinary talent and creativity on the show twice: he performed “Old Town Road” with Billy Ray Cyrus at “BET Awards” 2019 and his “BET Awards” 2021 efficiency was a spotlight of our present. No one cheered louder that evening than BET.”
The assertion continued, including “Unfortunately, this year, he was not nominated by BET’s Voting Academy, which is comprised of an esteemed group of nearly 500 entertainment professionals in the fields of music, television, film, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, influencers, and creative arts. No one from BET serves as a member of the Voting Academy. At BET, we are passionate advocates for the wonderful diversity that exists within our community. We are committed to using all of our platforms to provide visibility and inclusion for all of the many intersections of the Black community.”
