Elon Musk’s electric car maker has announced the construction of a factory in Shanghai.

Tesla has confirmed it will build a factory for its electric cars, in Shanghai, China, to better serve the Asian market, according to The Wall Street Journal.

It is predicted that by 2025 some seven million electric vehicles will reach the Chinese market every year, a future that CEO Elon Musk intends to take advantage of by growing his revenue further in the country. Note that only last year Tesla got 15% of its annual revenue in China, a margin that will grow even more with this bet.

It is also expected that the construction of this factory will help Tesla to face the production problems of Model 3, if the brand has ambitions to bring the new model to customers who have already placed their orders.
